Mary Katsahnias, LCSW

Counselor

Mary Katsahnias is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Mary holds a master’s degree in clinical social work from Rutger’s University, NJ. Mary’s background includes working with diverse and vulnerable populations, both individuals and families, experiencing complex trauma, addiction, and a range of acute or chronic mental health difficulties. Mary has worked in a range of settings which include inpatient, residential, and outpatient. She is passionate about serving others by helping them discover their strengths, gain self-confidence, and feel empowered to lead healthier lives.

Mary is committed to providing quality and compassionate therapeutic services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her therapeutic style is integrative and largely influenced by such frameworks as trauma-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and somatic experiencing. Mary understands that there is no “one size fits all” approach when it comes to therapy and finds an integrative approach that incorporates various therapeutic techniques to be most effective and adaptive to the client’s needs.

Mary believes healing happens in relationships. It is through connection found in meaningful relationships that emotional wounds begin to heal. Trauma, depression, and shame are the common thieves of connection, both in us and with others.

Mary views therapy and a positive therapeutic relationship as a powerful tool for learning how to rebuild meaningful connections and relationships in one’s life. It is her goal to provide you with a therapeutic environment that feels safe, compassionate, and accepting as you work toward your healing and recovery goals.

Mary is currently accepting new clients and has immediate availability.
