Destiny Stroud, Art Therapy Intern

Destiny is an emerging art therapist and counselor studying at Edgewood College located in Madison, WI. While completing her master’s degree, her practicum and internship will be supervised by Dr. Molly Ansari here at Art of Healing. Currently, she is on the path to specialize further in trauma and sensory-informed care.

Art therapy is a form of processing that goes beyond skill or verbal communication. Words are hard sometimes, which makes visual expression more accessible in these moments. Destiny is open to all ages, backgrounds, and levels of communicators. With a client-centered approach, she intends to find what works best for you!

Her main focus is on need identification, self-discovery, self-empowerment, and effective boundary setting. A lot of this process is done through release, exploration, and identification. She has 5 years of experience volunteering at a kids trauma camp facilitating emotional processing activities through art and group facilitation through her school program.

With Destiny’s compassion, she wants to make you feel seen and heard by meeting you where you’re at. “Emotions are not meant to be suppressed but expressed and released, let’s navigate that together.”
